Information From Tom Bell

 

Here is a bit of information on happenings at PYF&C this week and next.  Let me, someone on the board or the coaches know if you have any questions.

 

Greece Cardinals Scrimmage – *** Note Early Start Time ***  The games will start at 10:30am (C-Game), 12:30pm (A-Game) and 2:30pm (B-Game).  Football players need to arrive 1 hour before game start for warm-up and weigh in.

 

Here is a link to some directions to Greece Apollo Middle School where we will play on Sunday (08/24/08).  The school is located at 750 Maiden Lane in Greece.  It’s the old Cardinal Mooney High School for those of you familiar with that.  Mapquest sends you down Route 104 West to Mt. Read Blvd.  You can also take 490 West to Mt Read Blvd. and then head north from there.

 

Uniform Distribution – C Football and Cheer uniform distribution to be determined.

 

Certification – This is also tonight (08/19/08).  You do not need to do anything, just an FYI (Football players must be there for certification).  For football players, based on what I have heard from coaches, most everyone’s weight is okay.  But if your son’s weight is still more than 10lbs over his team’s weight limit, he could have a problem getting on the roster.  Cheerleading should be a non-issue as all paperwork is complete – so a huge thank you to parents for getting us all documentation and to Karen Mulley for coordinating.

 

PYF&C Clothing Sale – This will take place next week on Monday (8/25), Tuesday (8/26) and Wednesday (8/27) evenings during practice.  There will be some samples for you to check out and order forms.  A portion of the cost of each item goes directly to PYF&C so please stop by and take a look at the spirit wear and pick something up for you or your kids.

 

Fundraising Commitment – We will be handing out a packet of raffle tickets later this month.  The commitment we ask is $100 per family, regardless of the number of kids in the program.  This year we will ask you to pay for the tickets up front and then sell them or just put your names on them.  We will collect the stubs a few weeks later and begin to do the drawings.  I will finalize these dates and provide details on the prizes and uses of the funds within the next week.
